Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?


my preliminary task was to create the front cover for a school magazine, this conventions of these magazines are very different from music magazines. This was helpful when it came to creating my final product. Looking back at my preliminary task i think that i have improved in the way i construct and create my magazine, as my final product for my music magazine is much better quality than my school magazine. Although for both magazines i have followed the conventions of all magazine types but made each one fit the specific style of magazine that it is. Having worked out both sets of convention helped me understand how each type of magazine is created by following the conventions. Through using the preliminary task i have developed my skills in creating professional photos for my final product as the photos for my school magazine weren’t planned before hand. I have used similar layouts in both magazines but the layout in the music magazine looks more professional. I have used colours in both magazines in a way that is conventional to the specific genre. In both magazines i have made sure to make it easy to read and enjoyable to the reader. I think i have improved since making my preliminary task as i have had more time to plan for my main task.
